Students Year 2024
Phinampa Yaebiang
Hello! My name is Phinampa Yaebiang
I am 19 years old. I completed high school at Chiang Saen Withayakom School. For the past six years, I have been living at the center with the Sisters of Providence. I have learned so much during my time here.
When I first arrived, I did not know anything. Back in my village, my parents struggled every day to put enough food on the table. At the center, I have had numerous opportunities. I attended school, and I also learned additional skills like English and playing musical instruments.
Today, I can play both the violin and the guitar. I am incredibly thankful to the sisters and the many people who support our education. I have gained valuable life skills here too, taking care of the house, cleaning, ironing, baking, cooking, and even tending to the garden.
Looking back, I realize how important these skills are, even though I might not have fully appreciated them at the time. The Sisters have done everything for me, and I am grateful beyond words. Living here feels like having a big family. We share our joys and face difficulties together, just like any family would. Having the Sisters nearby to offer advice and help us love one another makes all the difference.
As I move forward, I promise to always give my best. Now, as I begin my first year of university, studying to become a nurse at Mae Fah Luang University, I see it as another chance to grow and give back. I want to be a good person and help others whenever possible.
To everyone who has been part of my journey and who supports my education, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With gratitude,
Phinampa

Many years ago, when I arrived at the center, I felt timid and wondered if I could continue my studies. You see, I thought I was too old to finish primary school. But deep down, I knew that this opportunity was a gift that could improve my life and allow me to support my family back in Myanmar.
At the tender age of seven, I came to Thailand to live with my elder brother, who had already been here for many years. Our village did not offer many opportunities, especially for those of us who were not Thai citizens. Yet, against all odds, the Sisters of Providence extended their kindness to me. They gave me the chance to study and learn valuable life skills. Those years I spent at the center laid a solid foundation for my academic journey, which now will continue at the university.
The center experience was everything to me. I was pushed out of my comfort zone to learn to speak English, musical instruments, mastering cooking, and caring for others, all under the watchful example of the sisters. These lessons are etched into my heart, and I will carry them with me forever.
My companions at the center became my second family. We laughed, shared stories, and supported each other. In that house, no one felt alone or lonely. The love I received here will forever echo in my memories.
To each sister of Providence, I want to express my deepest gratitude. They welcomed me with open arms and brought about the most significant change in my life. And beyond the sisters, I thank God for all the blessings I received. Generous people, whom we prayed for daily, reminded us that dreams can come true through God’s Providence. They were the ones who supported and uplifted us.
Now, as I embark on my university journey to become a nurse, I carry the hope that I can give back. I want to repay the kindness I have received over these eight years by offering help and care to others. It is my way of honoring the legacy of those who believed in me.
